Framing & Carpentry Questions & Answers

Answers to the most common questions about custom framing, finish carpentry, and construction projects in the Sarasota area.

Framing

How long does it take to frame a custom home?

Framing timeline depends on the size and complexity of the home. A typical 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft home takes 2 to 4 weeks. Larger homes, multi-story structures, and complex designs take longer. We provide a timeline estimate during the bidding process.

Do you work with all types of framing materials?

Yes. We work with traditional wood framing, engineered lumber (LVLs, I-joists, glulam), and metal framing. The right material depends on the project specifications, building code requirements, and architectural design.

Finish Carpentry

What does finish carpentry include?

Finish carpentry covers the visible woodwork in a home — crown molding, baseboards, door and window casings, chair rails, wainscoting, built-in shelving, closet systems, mantels, and other decorative and functional trim elements.

Can you match existing trim in a remodel?

Yes. When working on additions or remodels, we match the existing trim profiles so new work blends seamlessly with the original construction. If the existing profile is no longer available, we can have custom profiles milled to match.
